Privacy Policy
TableLab ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by MagpiQ, a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use TableLab on any platform.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Email address (for account creation and login via Supabase Auth or Google Sign-In)
- Session records: stakes, buy-in and cash-out amounts, locations, dates, duration, notes
- Hand histories: card details, bet sizes, player actions you record
- Player reads and notes you create about opponents
- Bankroll and profile information you enter
Information collected automatically:
- Android only: Crash reports collected by Firebase Crashlytics (Google). Includes device model, OS version, app version, and anonymised crash identifiers. Does not include your poker session or hand data.
- Usage analytics: Anonymous product analytics via PostHog — which features are used and how often. These events are not linked to your account identity, and analytics are disabled on Windows desktop.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the TableLab service
- To display your session history, analytics, and performance statistics
- To enable AI coaching features when you explicitly request them
- To diagnose and fix technical issues (crash data)
- To understand which features are used, via anonymous usage analytics
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. AI Features and Third-Party Processing
When you use "Analyse Session" or "Analyse Hand," the relevant session details or hand history are transmitted to Anthropic (Claude API) to generate coaching analysis. This transmission is opt-in — your data is only sent when you explicitly tap the Analyse button. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their processing of this data in transit.
Analysis results are cached in your account so repeat requests do not re-send your data.
4. Third-Party Data Processors
- Supabase — database and authentication, hosted on Amazon Web Services
- Anthropic — Claude AI API, used only when you request AI analysis
- Firebase / Google — Crashlytics crash reporting, Android only
- PostHog — anonymous product usage analytics
Each processor handles your data under their own privacy policies and applicable data processing agreements.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database hosted on Amazon Web Services. Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure that only your authenticated account can access your records. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). Your data is stored in AWS infrastructure outside Canada.
We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is 100% secure. You use the service at your own risk.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted from our systems. Crash data retained by Firebase follows Google's retention policies.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access and portability: Export all your session data at any time via the Import/Export screen in the app
- Erasure: Delete your account and all associated data directly in the app via Settings → Delete Account. Alternatively, contact [email protected]
- Correction: Edit your session records and profile directly in the app
- Restriction: Contact us to restrict processing of your data
- EU/EEA users (GDPR): You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
- California users (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we hold and to request its deletion
- Canadian users (PIPEDA): You have the right to access your personal information and to challenge its accuracy
8. Children's Privacy
TableLab is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use of TableLab after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). EU users' data is processed subject to GDPR where applicable.
